Marenda Taylor is an Inspirational Speaker, Writer, Interactive Book creator, and an Independent Certified Coach, Teacher, Trainer, and Speaker with The John Maxwell Team. She is the Founder of Know Her Body, a campaign to increase awareness, particularly among couples to encourage frequent self-breast exams with a second pair of hands to double check; inspired by the fact that Marenda’s husband discovered a lump in her breast.
Marenda was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer BRCA1+ at the age of 39 while working as a Senior Field Representative for a prominent elected official of the California State Legislature. Through chemotherapy, bilateral mastectomy, reconstructive surgeries, and recovery she made the conscious decision to take an integrative medicine approach addressing mind, body, and soul. Marenda immersed herself in various therapies including Reiki, Mindfulness Meditation, Yoga, and fell in love with Writing for Wellness at the Cancer Support Community Redondo Beach. Her quest for healing and recovery ultimately led to Marenda leaving her “good government job” to pursue inspirational coaching, voice-over acting, photography, becoming a flight attendant and traveling.
Marenda Has Been Featured on National and Local Television Programs to Inspire and Empower Breast Cancer Survivors.
Marenda Believes Community Engagement is Important for Breast Cancer Survivors.
She serves as an inspirational speaker at community events, participates in walks, fundraisers, and workshops and is actively involved with the Young Survivor Coalition, Cancer Support Community Redondo Beach, Pink Nose Way, Keep a Breast, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, If Girls Ran the World, Avon Breast Cancer Crusade, Haus of Volta Survivor Pinup Model and a Brand Ambassador for AnaOno Intimates.
